Incanto Coffee Machine

I have had my coffee machine for a couple of years now, and I would never go back. When I bought the thing, it cost me $1,000 however they are much cheaper now (about $600). I previously purchased a low end coffee maker where you had to do everything by hand - including fill it with 1 cup of water each time you wanted to make 1 cup. The reality of it all is that if you have to do too much, you wont use every day. How many people have one of those drip filter coffee makers? They sit in the cupboard and only come out on special occassions. Well a good coffee machine is not for special occassions, it is for every day use. My criteria for buying my current coffee machine was that I wanted to push 1 button, and get a good cup of coffee. If I had to do anything else, then it would end up being too much of a hassle and I would not use it. I still believe this is the case.

Now I have to say that I don't make cuppacinos or lattes (ie hot milk coffee). Once again this is too much hassle for day to day use. The machine will certainly do this for you, and we do make them on special occassions, however day to day we simply make long black coffee and add milk - just like you would if it was instant coffee.

Why I like it

  1. Push one button and get a great coffee.

What to tell your wife

  1. If you were at a coffee shop and they served you instant coffee, you would spit it out. So why do we drink it at home.
  2. There's no point spending $300 on a machine that takes a lot of effort to use. It will be more expensive in the long run to buy a machine that does half the job, only to then have to fork out for the real deal down the track.
